For a public-record request, use the county's NextRequest portal or the LCSO paper FOIA route. Give the name, approximate booking date, and booking or subject number when known. A live check belongs in the county custody and booking path; the portal's default current-custody filter is not a historical release archive.
- For a court case or disposition, use the Lancaster trial Public Index and confirm with the clerk when needed.
- For a person currently sentenced to state prison, use the SCDC inmate search, not the county roster.
- For federal custody, use the BOP locator; for the stated ICE/CBP custody scope, use ICE ODLS.
- For a possible warrant, LCSO says outstanding warrants are not discussed by telephone. Visit the duty office or consult the issuing court or an attorney.
